After having a bye in the opening round of the Heritage Junior Hockey League playoffs, the Airdrie Thunder are itching to get the second season going.

They'll do that tonight (February 19) when they welcome the Blackfalds Wranglers to the Ron Ebbesen Arena for the start of their seven-game, second-round series.

Airdrie's first round rest was by virtue of the fact they finished first in the Northern Division with a record of 35 and 3.  The Wranglers had to play a three-game series against Stettler which they shortened to two games by sweeping the Lightning.  Blackfalds finished fifth in the North with a record of 14 - 18 and 6.

The four head to head meetings between the two clubs were no contest with a decided edge to the Thunder who won all four while outscoring the Wranglers 31 to 9.

The puck drops for tonight's game at 8:00 pm.  Game two goes back in Blackfalds on Thursday night with the third game in Airdrie Friday night.
