Lacrosse season got off to a running start last night in Crossfield for the Rockyview Silvertips.

The Silvertips took on the Olds Mavericks for the first time this season and defeated them in the Pete Knight Arena 18-10.

The game started strong for the Silvertips, as they lead into the second despite a scoreless couple minutes at the beginning of the game.

Despite powerful play by the Mavericks, Olds was unable to catch the Silvertips.

Brilliant goaltending by the Silvertips and powerful offence both kept the Mavericks at bay while defending their lead.

The Silvertips will have a bit of a break before their next game against the Airdrie Mohawks in the Plainsmen Arena next Friday.
