There are just a few games left in the South Central Alberta Hockey League season and all of Airdrie's Elite Lightning teams are ready for it.

Last weekend, all four AA Men's Lightning teams were on the ice but only one came away with a victory. That win was put together by the Peewee Red team as they doubled up on the Red Deer Parkland Transmission 6-3. Mitchell Patrick led the way with two goals and one assist in that game.

The Peewee White Lightning had a tough go in their only game of the weekend against the Olds Grizzlys. The Grizzlys vastly out shot the Lightning 51-25 en route to a 5-1 win. Jayden Gallant had the only goal for the Lightning in that game.

The Bantam Lightning also had one game over the weekend and it was super close. Aidan Doornbos scored one goal while Cody Jaman made 29 saves but it wasn't enough as the Olds Grizzlys Bantam team scored the winning goal early in the third period to take the game 2-1.

Finally, the Midget AA Lightning were the busiest of the bunch with back to back games, both of them losses. Sloan Coppicus had a shorthanded goal on Saturday as the Lightning fell 6-3 to the CRAA Gold. The next day was a tough one for the Lightning as they dropped a 5-1 decision to the Okotoks Oilers with Nathan Czepuryk scoring the only goal for Airdrie.

All of Airdrie's Elite Lightning teams are back in action this weekend beginning on Saturday (February 10).
