The Airdrie Thunder already have the most potent offense in the Heritage Junior Hockey League and it's about to become more lethal.

The Thunder have scored 199 goals this season, 83 more than the next top scoring team, the Coaldale Copperheads.  Now they've added Tyler Petrie to their lineup.

Petrie suited up for 78 games over the last two seasons with the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Fort McMurray Oil Barons, Calgary Canucks and the Grande Prairie Storm.

Thunder Head Coach Derek Stamp is excited about Petrie's coming to the club saying, "Tyler is going to be a great addition to our team.  He's a local guy, a friendly face in our dressing room and a player that brings great character and work ethic."

Petrie will be in the Thunder lineup tonight (December 7) when they host the Mountainview Colts at 8:00 pm at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.

The 22 and 2 Thunder are coming off a loss last weekend to the Red Deer Vipers and are hoping to get things back on track tonight.  The Colts are 12 - 7 and 1 and sit third in the Northern Divsion of the HJHL behind the Thunder and Vipers.

In another game on tonight's schedule, the Cochrane Generals travel to Okotoks to face the Bisons.
