The Airdrie Thunder got big games out of Clay Murray and Matt Thomson last night (February 23) and evened their best of five second round Heritage Junior Hockey League series with the Blackfalds Wranglers.  

Murray scored a hattrick and added an assist for a four-point night while Thomson had three points on a pair of goals and one assist as the Thunder scored a big 6 - 1 win over the Wranglers.  The series now stands at one game apiece.

Jacob MacDonald scored the other goal for the Thunder who rebounded from Wednesday night's 3 - 2 loss.

The series now shifts to Blackfalds for games three and four.  The third game goes tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 pm.

The Cochrane Generals lost their first game of the best of five series against the Okotoks Bisons, falling 6 - 3 last night in Okotoks.  Braden Bain had two goals in a losing cause for the Generals.

Game two goes tonight in Okotoks.

In the other series last night, High River tied things up one all with the Coaldale Copperheads following a 5 - 4 win.

Game three is tonight in Coaldale.

Also tonight, the Mountainview Colts play their first game with the Red Deer Vipers in Red Deer.
