Insert the name of just about any Heritage Junior Hockey League team into this sentence and you'll likely find it's pretty accurate.

This year, the Airdrie Thunder have dominated _____________.

Going into tonight's (January 18) 8:00 pm game at the Ron Ebbesen Arena you can put the name Stettler Lightning into the blank.  So far this HJHL season, the Thunder have played the Lightning twice.  The first contest was no contest as the Thunder rolled to a 13 - 2 win.  The second was much closer, but again the Thunder scored a 6 - 3 win over the Lightning.

Airdrie will be out to increase their lead in the North Division to 17 points over the Red Deer Vipers who are idle tonight.

The Lightning aren't having a bad season either, with a record of 15 - 10 and 5.  The trail the Mountainview Colts and third place in the North by just three points.

Speaking of the Colts, they play at home tonight as well facing the last place Three Hills Thrashers.  That game also gets underway at 8:00 pm in the Didsbury Rec Complex.
