The Airdrie Thunder let an important point slip away last night (January 12) when they lost at the hands of the Mountainview Colts.

A win over the Colts would have put the Thunder back into first place in the North, one point up on the Red Deer Vipers.  As it was, the Thunder picked up only a single point in a 7 - 6 shootout loss to the Colts.

The Thunder are now in a first place tie with the Vipers, but Red Deer holds two games in hand.

Colton Anderson scored in the shootout to lift the Colts to victory.

Rylan Plante-Crough and Jackson Gibson each had three points in a losing cause for the Thunder, with Plante-Crough scoring a pair of goals.

The Thunder are back in action Sunday afternoon when they travel to Ponoka for a 3:00 pm game against the Stampeders.

The Cochrane Generals travelled to Okotoks and came away with a big 4 - 1 win over the Bisons to move Cochrane into second place in the Southern Division, two points back of High River.

Brandon Aab and Slater Ransom each had a goal and two assists for the Generals who play at home tonight against the Strathmore Wheatland Kings.

Game time at the Spray Lakes Sawmill Family Sports Centre is 7:30 pm.
