For a couple of games, the Airdrie Thunder were forced to vacate the driver's seat in their North Division Final as the Mountainview Colts took over and took the lead in the series.

But, in the last two games, the Thunder are back in what they consider to be their rightful spot at the wheel.

Last night at the Ron Ebbesen Arena the Thunder got a three-goal performance from Tyler Petrie and beat the Colts 6 - 1 to take a three games to two lead in the best of seven.  Petrie has had a great post-season.  He leads all playoff scorers with 10 goals and 17 points in nine games.

Zachary Giroux had two goals for Airdrie and Rylan Plante-Crough also scored for the Thunder who got a 31 save performance from goaltender Jackson Little.

The series could be over tonight, but with the resilience, the Colts have shown in these playoffs, you just never know.  Game six goes in the Didsbury Rec Complex starting at 8:00 pm.

The South Final could also end tonight as the Coaldale Copperheads hold a three games to one lead over the Cochrane Generals going into game five tonight in Coaldale.

The Generals are another resilient group though, so don't count them out quite yet either.  On Sunday the Generals fought back from a 4 - 1 deficit in the third to beat the Copperheads 6 - 5.
