The Airdrie Thunder have been hot to start the Heritage Junior Hockey League season.

The Thunder are off to a 5 and 0 start and will be looking to make it an even half dozen tonight (October 5) when they turn up the heat on the visiting Cochrane Generals.

Through a quirk in the HJHL schedule, this is only Cochrane's second game of the season.  They lost their opener to Mountainview.

Game time is 8:00 pm in the Ron Ebbesen Arena.   It's the only game of the weekend for the Thunder while the Generals will be in action again tomorrow night when they host the Stettler Lightning.  The puck drops at 7:00 pm at the Cochrane Arena.

The Gens will try to play catch up to the rest of the league with many teams having already played six games.  They also play on Sunday when they visit the Coaldale Copperheads.

In another game on tonight's schedule, the Mountainview Colts are home to the Ponoka Stampeders in a game that starts at 8:00 pm in the Didsbury Rec Complex.  The Colts play again tomorrow night when they travel to Lomond to face the expansion Lakers.
