The Airdrie Thunder have taken a three games to none lead in their best of seven North Division semifinal with the Blackfalds Wranglers in the Heritage Junior Hockey League.  

The Thunder had 17 different players hit the score sheet last night (February 21) as they pounded the Wranglers 13 - 1.  Jordan McConnell hit if the most with three goals and an assist.  Cooper Page, Tyler Petrie and Brett LeGrandeur each scored twice as Airdrie outshot Blackfalds 50 - 16.

The fourth, and quite possibly last game in the series is set for 3:30 pm tomorrow afternoon in Blackfalds.

In other HJHL playoff action last night the Red Deer Vipers took a 2 - 0 lead in their series against Didsbury's Mountainview Colts after a 6 - 2 win. Game three in the series goes tonight in Red Deer.

The Cochrane Generals got the winner in overtime to edge the Okotoks Bisons 6 - 5 in game one of that South Division semi final.  The teams meet again tonight, 7:30 pm in Cochrane for game two.

The other South semi is tied at one game each as the Coaldale Copperheads beat Medicine Hat 3 - 1 last night.  Game three goes tonight in Coaldale.
