Two ex-Airdrie Xtreme teammates will be playing at next year's Canada Winter Games as part of Team Alberta.  

Defenceman Keagan Slaney and forward Craig Armstrong were named to the roster yesterday (December 6).  

Slaney and Armstrong both played with the Xtreme last season when the team won the Alberta Midget Championship and finished as runners-up in the Western Canadian finals.

Both players were taken in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft in 2017.  Armstrong was the ninth overall pick and was chosen by the Prince George Cougars.  Slaney was selected  20th overall by the Edmonton Oil Kings.  Both players are currently with the Edge School.

Team Alberta will meet for a Christmas Camp in Red Deer December 19th - 21st.  They`ll host a pair of exhibition games during the camp, one on December 19th against the Red Deer Midget AAA Optimist Chiefs, the other on December 21st against the St. Alberta Midget AAA Raiders.

The Canada Winter Games go in Red Deer from February 15th - March 3rd.  Slaney and Armstrong and the rest of Team Alberta will play from February 17th - 22nd during the Men`s Hockey competition.
