Two players who were chosen in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft are on the list of year-end award winners for the Airdrie Xtreme.

The Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League club is coming off a season that was ended by COVID-19 in which they finished second in the league's Ram South Division with a record of 11 - 17 and 5 and qualified for the playoffs but lost in overtime to the Southeast Tigers from Medicine Hat in the deciding game of a first-round series.

On the weekend, the team presented their awards for the season.  For the second straight year, goaltender Zach Zahara was chosen as the winner of the Vic Wiebe MVP Award.  Zahara was taken in the 8th round of the Bantam Draft by the Medicine Hat Tigers.

He compiled a goals-against-average of 3.39 with a .908 save percentage in 17 games with the Xtreme.

Another WHL Draft pick was chosen as the team's Top Forward.  Ethan Neutens went in the 9th round, chosen by the Kelowna Rockets.  Neutens had eight goals and 15 assists this year.

The Top Scorer award went to Jayden Gallant who sniped 18 goals and added 10 assists for the Xtreme this year.

The Top Defenceman was Grady Hauk who also scored four goals and nine assists.

Other award winners included Drew Williamson who took home the Heart and Hustle Award, Carter Hewitt who was chosen the Most Improved Player on the Xtreme and Finn McLaughlin who is the winner of the Harry Smart Memorial trophy.

Like the other teams in the Airdrie Cochrane Athletic Association the AC Avalanche and the Airdrie Bisons, the Xtreme couldn't get together for a banquet so the award winners were named via social media.
