If you could put a price tag on nervous energy a lot of cowboys and cowgirls would be feeling about $100,000 worth today (July 15).

That's how much is up for grabs for first place in each event during Rodeo's Richest Afternoon, Showdown Sunday at the Calgary Stampede.

One local competitor is feeling that energy as Jake Vold of Airdrie will take part in the bareback riding.  Vold, who ended up in third spot in the Pool "A" bareback standings, is up on Tootsie Roll today.

Unfortunately, Cochrane's Milan brothers won't be involved in the rodeo finals today after failing to qualify from Wildcard Saturday.  Tanner Milan took an eternity, in steer wrestling terms, to get his steer down.  Milan's 13.7 second time yesterday left him out of the mix.  His brother Straws took his fourth no time in five runs at the rodeo.

The rodeo gets underway at 1:15 pm at the Calgary Stampede Grandstand.
