Some big names in the curling world will pay a visit to Airdrie this weekend to take part in the McKee Homes Fall Curling Classic which gets underway tomorrow (Friday) at the Airdrie Curling Club.

Club Manager Don Delair says 16 rinks will be involved.  "There's Kevin Park from up in Edmonton.  As well we've got some local flavour.  Aaron Sluchinski plays in our Super League and he's been to provincials the last couple of years, as well as Josh Lambden who also plays out of Airdrie."

There are three draws both Friday and Saturday at noon, 3:30 pm, and 7:30 pm.  The playoffs go Sunday at 9:00 am, noon and 3:00 pm.  The winning foursome will take home $3,400.  All together teams are competing for $14,400.  The event is part of the World Curling Tour.

Delair says spectators are more than welcome at the bonspiel and admission is free.
