The Airdrie Xtreme find themselves in a three-way tie for first place at the Western Canadian Bantam Hockey Championships in Kamloops after a win and a loss yesterday (March 30).

The Xtreme are deadlocked with the Seafair Islanders, who they lost to by a 3 - 1 score yesterday, and the Winnipeg Hawks who they'll play in their final round robin game at noon today.

It's a crucial contest since a win by the Xtreme will guarantee them a berth in tomorrow's gold medal game.

All three teams are at two and one.  The Thompson Blazers have one win and two losses, while the West Central Wheat Kings from Saskatchewan are winless in two starts.

Airdrie won their second game of the tournament yesterday afternoon when they downed the Blazers 3 - 1.  Brett Moravec scored a pair of goals while Craig Armstrong had the other Xtreme marker.

Nathan Airey won his second game of the tournament in goal and Tristan Zandee was named the Player of the Game for the Xtreme.
