The Airdrie Xtreme will begin their chase for a Western Canadian Championship in earnest today (March 29) when they face off today in Kamloops, B.C.

The Alberta Champion Xtreme open the Western Canadian Bantam Hockey Championships with their first game of the round robin this afternoon at 4:00 pm when they meet the Saskatchewan Champion West Central Wheat Kings.  

The Airdrie team faces the Seafair Islanders, the B.C. Champions and the host team, the Thompson Blazers on Friday before wrapping up the round robin on Saturday against the Manitoba Champion Winnipeg Hawks.

The bronze medal game goes Sunday at 10:00 am with the gold medal final going at 1:00 pm Sunday afternoon.  

The Xtreme captured the Alberta title on Wednesday, March 21st in the deciding game of a best of five series with a quadruple overtime win against St. Albert.
