An 18-year-old man has been charged following the shooting that took place in the community of King's Heights on Saturday night (May 12th)

According to RCMP the intended victim of the shooting was targeted following a dispute at a house party in Ravenswood. All residents involved in the incident were not locals and had travelled from Calgary to attend the party.

At approximately 10:45 p.m, four shots were fired at point-blank range at a black Lincoln SUV that was parked along Kingsmere Cove in Airdrie. After the shots were fired the SUV sped off northbound through Airdrie towards highland park boulevard with the suspect vehicle chasing them.  Airdrie RCMP was able to corner both vehicles on Highland Park Boulevard which led to the arrest of 10 individuals. 

Seven of the 10 people were youth and each individual involved was known to each other.

The loaded firearm involved in the shooting was located in a ditch not far from where the vehicles were stopped. 

18-year-old Jaskaran Singh Sidhu of Calgary has been charged with six firearms offences. 

Sidhu was released from custody by the court on a cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Provincial Courts on June 14th.
