After being on the rise for the first part of the week, heading into the long weekend active cases of COVID-19 continued to drop today (July 31) in Airdrie, making three days in a row that cases in our city have gone down.  

The number of people battling the disease dropped to 20 from 22 on Thursday.  Active cases in the city reached 25 on Tuesday but have been going down ever since.  55 Airdronians have recovered from COVID.

After rising by six cases yesterday, the numbers took a turn for the better today in Rocky View County.  Active cases declined by three to 24 in the county with 52 recoveries.

Although there were 127 new cases of the virus found in the province today, recoveries outpaced those cases and now there are 1,386 active cases compared to 1,408 the previous day.

One more Albertan passed away bringing the total for the province to 196.  86 people remain in hospital with 17 of them in the ICU.
