With the Airdrie Minor Hockey Season wrapping up, eyes are already on next year and how the Association will deal with their ice crunch.

Stacey Carefoot with Airdrie Minor Hockey says they know they're in a crunch to find more ice time fro their growing programs, and are looking for ways to work with it.

"We are looking at being super creative, coming up with ways to maximize the ice that we're able to rent from the City. get the most number of players on the ice whilst still trying not to compromise our development model."

Carefoot says one of those creative ways will be to start morning practices for next year.

"AMHA will be turning to morning ice next season, that is basically A 99.9% guarantee."

Talk of this ice crunch comes a week after a Calgary Bantam team was forced to resort to coin toss to decide their Quarter Final playoff game, because they ran out of time on their ice.

Carefoot is grateful that a scenario like that would never happen here.

"I can't ever imagine Airdrie City staff during a final of that caliber or any caliber pulling the pin and pulling the Zamboni out and saying, 'alright, game's over, toss your coin.'"
