Airdrie City Council will receive information that will summarize how things went during the Hometown Hockey weekend in the city when they hold their regular bi-weekly meeting today (April 2).  

Manager of Recreation, Culture and Social Sustainability, Patti Murray will present a report to council summarizing the event which took place December 16th and 17th at the Genesis Place parking lot.

Also on today's agenda, council will be asked to proclaim the week of April 15th to the 21st as National Volunteer Week in Airdrie.  The Volunteer Airdrie Society is looking to council to help celebrate the 12.7 million Canadian volunteers whose contributions help build strong, connected communities, and contribute to a vibrant country.

Council will also be asked to ratify a letter of support of Windsong Heights School's application to the Jump Start Accessibility Grant program to help fund the creation of a fully accessible playground under the American Disabilities Act with accessible equipment for children of all developmental levels and special needs.  

Today's meeting begins at 3:30 pm in Council Chambers at Airdrie City Hall and is open to the public.
