Moneysense Magazine recently put out their rankings on the Best Places To Live in Canada but it wasn’t good news for Airdrie.

While the City has been in the top of some lists in the past, Airdrie didn’t score high on these rankings placing 246th in the country and 41st in Alberta.

Oakville, Ontario was ranked number one while Lacombe was the highest ranked Alberta city at 5th

Cochrane ranked higher on the list at 89th overall in 19th in Alberta while Calgary sat at 30th in the country.

The magazine took in a variety of factors to complete their rankings including access to amenities and health care but primarily focused on the city’s economy and affordability.

Airdrie ranked high in three categories: lower taxes, demographics based on a five-year population growth and access to amenities.

The magazine ranked 415 cities this year and also ran polls on the best places to raise a family and retire.

Airdrie didn’t make the top 100 in the families list which placed Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC as number 1
