Less than a day to go!

Four Airdrie firefighters went up to the roof of Boston Pizza on Thursday, determined to survive there for 72 hours and even more determined to raise funds for the cause of Muscular Dystrophy Canada,

With less than 24 hours to go, so far, so good on both counts.

Firefighters Cassidy Kinley, Damon Johnson, Todd Munro and Kyle Mclaughlin are taking part in the Airdrie Fire Department's Fourth Annual Rooftop Camp Out, raising funds and awarness for Muscular Dystrophy.

Johnson says, so far, the conditions haven't been too bad.

"They've been a little bit trying yesterday.  Today is a nice day.  Thursday was pretty good, it snowed a little bit.  Once we got settled into our tent and got a little bit of sleep there on Thursday night it wasn't too bad.  Last night was a little bit better."

Cassidy Kinley says the support from the community has been great.

"It's been awesome.    We've had tons of people coming by and supporting us.  We get lots of honks from the highway so it's been really good."

Damon Johnson wholeheartedly agrees.

"Seeing the people from the community who drop off a donation or to drop off coffee, or ask us if we need anything for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  It's actually been really good."

In the past three years, the campout has raised over $42,000 for Muscular Dystrophy and this year the fundraising is again going well, according to Kinley.

"I think, depending on how tonight goes we should be equal to the first year, if not a little more.  Maybe we can push it to be our best year."

Anyone who can't make it to Boston Pizza in person can donate online at airdriefirefighters.com .  You can also bid on the silent auction there.

The four will make their return to terra firma, hopefully with record setting donations, tomorrow at noon
