Airdrie RCMP and Boys & Girls club have partnered up with Mac's/Circle K convenience stores in order to launch a new positive reinforcement campaign called Operation Freeze.

Operation Freeze runs nationwide and provides officers and youth to create healthy bonds over some delicious beverages. The program allows rewards of tickets for hot beverages in the winter and cold beverages in the summer to be given to any youth displaying positive behavior.

"This is a great opportunity for officers to recognize positive behavior and build relationships with youth in our community," says Cst. Morley Statchuk, Airdrie RCMP School Resource Officer, "Engaging our community, especially youth, only helps to empower them to make a positive difference."

The Airdrie RCMP and Boy & Girls club are both determined to come up with ideas to create a positive connection with Airdrie's youth and policing force. The award based system of Operation Freeze allows police and youth to have healthy, positive conversations and to build lasting connections.

Media and public are welcome to attend the Mac's Convenience Store located on 1 Avenue for the Operation Freeze Launch
