Eleven children were awarded the Airdrie Awesome Kids Awards on Thursday ( January 25th).
The Awards is a program created by Sherry Shaw-Froggatt as a way to recognize children in our community that are making an impact.
"The program is designed for kids between the ages 6 and fifteen that demonstrate, spirit, compassion, and leadership".
Those who were recognized were nominated by people within their community such as teachers, coaches and family members. The event was held at the Woodside Golf Course.
"Last night was the most satisfying experience I have felt," says Froggatt, "Now I know why I am in this business, the looks on these children's faces for being recognized for their good deeds was priceless."
Winners of the awards were also given fifty dollars for them to donate to a charity in their honour.
