Paulette Curtis is one lucky Airdronian who will save big on groceries this holiday season.

It is certainly the Season of Giving, $1,095.87 to be precise. Paulette Curtis of Airdrie entered a raffle on December 2 at the St. Paul's Catholic Church Chirstmas Market and was drawn as the lucky recipient of a 10-minute grocery shopping spree.

Apart from a limit of one grocery cart and no more than $200 worth of meat, Curtis had ten minutes to fill her cart with as many as groceries she needed at Real Canadian Superstore in Airdrie.

Paulette suffered a concussion a year ago and the past year has been a struggle for her.

"It's pretty exciting. It's a blessing and I'm looking so forward to doing this," said Curtis. "I get to shop and I don't have to look at prices... I can grab what I want and that never happens."

With her cart decorated in gold tinsel and a countdown over the P.A. system, Curtis took off, being cheered by other shoppers through the aisles.

Curtis managed to fill her cart with $1,095.87 worth of groceries in only ten minutes, including cheeses, meats, and cooking supplies needed for the holidays.

She says she had a strategy for getting all the items she needed efficiently within the ten minutes that were allotted to her.

"I kind of had an idea of what path to take and what I wanted and where it was, what aisles to avoid. We had it all figured out before hand what we wanted to do. I think we did okay!"

The spree was organized by Tina Steffler and the Catholic Women's League at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
