Three Airdrie students received an award from Lt. Governor Lois Mitchell on Friday, October 28th.

Hannah Kieswetter, Logan Kieswetter, and Andrew Stevenson received the Silver Award from the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.

"I'm definitely just trying to make a difference, Airdrie is small, so I'm trying to make a difference in the community and doing something people don't know about and bring it out in the world." said Hannah Kieswetter.

The award recognizes youth around the world who take learning to a whole new level with adventure and experience.

Divided into Gold, Silver and Bronze, participants learn about survival, life, and culture, while adventuring around the globe.

The long road continues, as the three Airdronians continue their adventure to earn the Gold Award.
