Chances are you’re tired of the cold weather in what’s supposed to be the beginning of Spring and you’re wondering when it will end.

According to Meteorologist Dan Kulak with Environment Canada, the cold weather is sticking around a bit longer.

Looks like snow on Main Street will stay as the weather is getting cooler for April.

“What we do see in the one to two-week timeframe is suggestive of temperature not quite reaching normal unless until the third or fourth week of April.”

Kulak says that the majority of the Prairies are experiencing a rush of cold arctic air, which is contributing to the winter-like temperatures. The average high temperature for this time should be around 8 degrees.

Believe it or not, temperatures have cooled at this time over the last couple years as data from March was recently compiled.

“The average temperature was minus 5.9 which is about 4 degrees cooler than normal which is a significant departure. Compare that to last year, 2017, it was a few degrees warmer than this year and back in 2016, March was about 3 degrees above normal.”

The long range is calling for a couple days of warm weather before reverting back to colder temperatures.
