Becky Hammon, Assitant Coach for the San Antonio Spurs is being considered for Head Coach of the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA.

If she gets the position she will be the first-ever female head coach in the NBA. Her story is touching female coaching staff all over the world and here at home.

Tina Prescott is the head coach for the Calgary Saracens Rugby Club and a native of Carstairs. She believes that Becky Hammon's story will inspire other women across the country.

"I look at it as there is going to be this female on the television, in newspapers and on the radio that other little girls can look at and say 'you know what, coaching can be a career outlet for me'".

It's an issue that faces female coaches everywhere, the lack of already established female coaching staff in major organizations such as the NBA, NHL, MLB and other leagues.

"We have this depletion in women's sports and coaching where there just isn't enough of us."

Hammon just completed her fourth season with the Spurs and has 16 years of playing experience under her belt from her time in the WNBA.
