A call about a suspicious vehicle led to a lengthy search, which resulted in two arrests by Beiseker RCMP on June 15.

At 1:40 that morning, Beiseker police responded to a complaint from a rural resident about a suspicious vehicle near Highway 566. Police located the vehicle, a white Ford truck that then fled into a field where it was abandoned by the occupants who fled on foot. Police determined the truck had been reported stolen from Calgary a few days earlier.

Police dog services and Airdrie Rural RCMP were called in to help. After a two hour search, the police dogs were able to track down the suspects hiding in a wooded area.

28 year old Joshua Methot of Whitecourt has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property. Methot has been remanded into custody and will appear in court tomorrow (June 22) via CCTV.

A 16 year old female was also arrested and charged for assaulting a peace officer, possession of methamphetaine and possession of stolen property. She was released to her parents and will appear in Airdrie Youth Court on July 20. The young woman's name can't be released because of her age.
