A section of Big Hill Circle will be closed this week while City crews work to replace a storm water main.

Glenn Archer, Team Lead for Water Services, explained the main has been identified for maintenance. The work is fairly routine.

"The City has a maintenance program where they inspect the storm sewer and sanitary sewer mains using a CCTV camera truck and then they identify areas which need some rehabilitation or repair, and then we create a program and get after those based on priority."

As a result of the project, Big Hill Circle is closed between East Lake Gate and Big Hill Place. That closure started yesterday (September 11), and will stay in effect until the project wraps up on Thursday (September 14).

"Thursday, the road will be available for use, it may not necessarily be paved. It depends how the day goes and the weather."

Archer said the hope is to have the road paved on Thursday, but it will be gravel at the very least.
