Wayne Lodge, an Admin for the Facebook group Airdrie Dads is fulfilling his promise on Tuesday, December 13, to get a tattoo of the Group's logo.

As part of a fundraising effort for the Airdrie Lioness Club's Christmas Hamper program, Lodge said that if the group raised $20,000 he would get the tattoo on his derriere.

At the Live Drive for Extras with Air 106.1 on Friday, December 2, the Airdrie Dads presented the ladies at the Lioness Club with a cheque for $20,000.

Although Airdrie Dads were struggling in the beginning to get donations, it was the last week that pushed the groups donations over the target goal.

"I think the guys knew the crunch time was there, they were just waiting to see how much money we were going to have and then when we got to that last week saw just how far we had to go," said Lodge. "In that last week there were some big big donations, and then our corporate donations and stuff started to roll in and really pushed us over the top."

This isn't the first time the Facebook group has raised money for a local cause, over the last three years they have hosted multiple golf tournaments and given money to the Nathan O'Brien foundation, the Airdrie Food Bank and others.

"We try to go for things where we can get the biggest impact, not for the attention but to actually help the people who make Airdrie what it is, and just whatever we can do to help."
