As Calgary continues to explore a possible bid for the 2026 Winter Games, members of the IOC are set to tour the City this week.

We wanted to know if Airdrie saw any benefits in a possible Calgary 2026 Olympics. We caught up with a few residents along Main Street, who shared their thoughts.

"I think it brings good economy to our city and sportsmanship," said Nicole. Her friend Sandy added it would also promote community spirit.

Barry said it's been too long since the Games have been in our country.

"It's time to have it back in Canada, after Vancouver and the last time they were in Calgary, so why not."

Kelly said it would just be a neat experience having the competition so close to home.

"I've never lived in a city where it has been, so that would be cool."

Of course, there are always concerns that hosting the Games would be a large drain on Calgary's resources.

The IOC has already indicated that the Saddledome could work as a venue for figure skating events, and many of the venues built for the '88 games would likely be reused if Calgary was awarded the Games.
