Smoking Cannabis in registered campsites in national parks across Canada will be permitted by the government.

Parks Canada has also said that hikers in national parks in Alberta will be allowed to smoke cannabis on hiking trails and in the backcountry.

Rules on consumption areas will be determined by the province you are in.

Towns in National parks may have separate bylaws on cannabis consumption.

Banff and Jasper, for example, will not allow smoking in public areas while Lake Louise and Waterton will allow smoking cannabis in public areas.
