While Airdrie continues to pick up from yesterday's (May 24th) windstorm, communities north of the QE II are doing the same.

Director of Operations for the Town of Carstairs, Corrina Fox says residents felt the bite of the wind.

"It was kinda scary at first, the power going out and that was our real biggest issue is keeping our water systems going and our waste water systems hooked up to generators."

Thankfully, Fox says that crews and the local Fire Department worked hard to clean up areas of the town, and the work has gone quicker than expected.

According to the Town of Crossfield, the wind and rain did hit them, but it had a minimal impact, meaning their cleanup went smoothly.
