Good news if you and your children were hoping to get in one last visit to the Chinook Winds Spray Park before the end of the season.

Thanks to a great forecast for the rest of the week, the City has decided to extend the season by one week. Archie Lang, Manager of Parks and Public Works with the City, said the Spray Park, which was originally supposed to close for the season on September 4, will now stay open until the end of Sunday (September 10).

"We're going to extend the season a little bit. The weather's with us, so why not. We figure that there'll probably be some people out there that want to take their little ones over and use the park during the day."

The Spray Park will have modified hours this week, opening at 10:00am and closing at 5:00pm.  Lang said there's no possibility that the season will be extended beyond Sunday.

"That's going to be the hard date right now because we still have to do maintenance and warranty work on it, and some of that work has to be done when it's still fairly nice out."
