The Santa Claus Parade marched down Main Street yesterday to the delight of Airdrie locals standing in the softly falling snow.

Floats carrying children dressed in their Holiday best slowly travelled down Main, waving at residents full of Christmas spirit while dancing to popular Christmas songs.

Between the lights. the music and the Christmas magic, no major accidents occurred.

Paraders dressed in Christmas costumes handed out candy canes to excited children.

Even dogs wanted a part of the action as an entire pack of Christmas pooches trotted happily while the AIR 106.1 cruiser, outfitted in Christmas joy, followed slowly behind while blasting Christmas jams.

Traffic following the road closures, which took place from 4:30 to 6:30 was major, but thanks to volunteers, RCMP and local MEs, it moved along smoothly.
