City Council members met yesterday afternoon (April 3) for their by weekly city council meeting.

There were a variety of items put forward to city council, including the proclamation that April 15th to the 21st will now be Airdrie's National Volunteer Week. This week will celebrate the 12.7 million volunteers whose contributions help build strong and connected communities. 

City council also voted in favour of supporting Windsong Heights in their application for funding for the Jump Start Accessibility grant. The school is looking for additional funding to create a fully inclusive playground under the American disabilities act with accessible equipment for children of all development levels and special needs. 

A land use amendment was also put forward for .16 acres on 1st Street to convert the land from village residential district to neighbourhood mixed-use district. All three readings were held last night with council voting in favour of the amendment.
