Airdrie Councilors had a productive night at City Council.

There were a number of items on the agenda for Council last night.

The City has approved the budget for the Genesis Place Solar Energy project and will be partnering with Enmax to get the job done.  When it is finished the roof of Genesis Place will be nearly covered in solar panels in hopes of reducing the building to a net zero building.

Council was also presented with the final City of Airdrie 10-year economic strategy  The plan will be available for the public at a later date.

The 2019-2023 Youth Engagement Strategy was also presented to Council.

The month of November will also be proclaimed at Family Violence Prevention Month.  City Hall will be lit up in purple lights on November 1st to raise awareness of the issue and help make a difference by creating a culture of support for those affected by family violence.
