Airdrie's Councillors will convene this afternoon (January 15) at City Hall for their first meeting of 2018.

During the afternoon portion of the meeting, council will hear the results of a recent waste audit, as well as an update on back alley parking in Prairie Springs. Council will also hear information on creating a Compassion Clause in the Tax Penalty Bylaw.

Councillor Tina Petrow has put forward a Notice of Motion, requesting City Staff to provide an update on the busy intersection of Highway 566 and Range Road 11.

Council will also deal with a request from Creative Airdrie Society to proclaim January 27 as Arts Celebration and Recognition Day.

Following a recess, council's evening session will feature a public hearing on a land use bylaw amendment for Bayside and Bayview. That will be followed by three readings of the bylaw.

The afternoon session of the meeting will begin at 3:30pm, and the evening session will begin at 5:30pm.
