City Councillors were faced with some big decisions at last night's Council meeting (March 20th)

The big topic of the night was the final presentation and vote on the new Waste Management By-Law.

Council unanimously approved the by-law but rejected the portion of using clear garbage bags. However there is a chance the bags could return as Council called for waste audits to be done within the next 12 months to ensure residents aren't putting recyclables or organics in their garbage.

There will still be a one bag limit for waste pickup but exceptions are available for those with medical concerns or children with diapers.
