Any singers in Airdrie with no musical experience now have the chance to join Cool Choir and have a unique experience without needing to be able to read music.

Creative Director Jamie Serafi says anyone who had the desire to sing has a place in Cool Choir

"Cool Choir is a brand new concept in choirs. It's a rock and pop choir experience, welcoming anybody who can speak into the room to have a really great night out. We sing rock and pop songs, everything from Adele, to Coldplay, to Guns N' Roses, to the Beatles and it's an all-inclusive experience for anybody who just enjoys singing, singing in the car, singing along to the radio and just coming along, having fun, making friends and leaving on high at the end."

Serafi says that the choir presents for the locals.

"We do regular performances in our local community. We invite people to come and hear us perform."

Locals looking to join Cool Choir can follow Serafi's instructions

"Visit coolchoir.com and they can book a free taster session on our website, where they come along for a free evening in either Airdrie, Cochrane or North-West Calgary and they can come along and try the experience. If they like the experience, they can join as a regular member."

If locals are nervous about applying, Serafi reminds them that they need absolutely no musical experience.

"We'll help you find who you are and exactly where should be sat in the choir when you come into the room for the first time," says Serafi. "You don't have to be able to read music to be a part of this choir because what you're given is actual lyric sheets so as long as you can read and you can read words. That's the only requirement to be part of Cool Choir."

Airdronians have the chance to meet the director of the choir, a talented man named Tyler Fitzgerald.

"We have the most incredibly talented young guy called Tyler Fitzgerald and you've got to hear this guy sing to believe it. His energy is off the wall, he has so much fun and humour and passion. He really believes in bringing people together within a community setting and getting everybody singing."
