City Council will meet this evening (October 2) one last time before the October 16 election.

Council is being asked to consider remaining the Gold Ice at the Ron Ebbesen Arena as the Murray Buchanan Ice.

There will be a public hearing regarding a possible Land Use Bylaw amendment that will allow Jet Wash Auto Spa to temporarily continue renting U-Haul vehicles.

There will also be a quarterly update on the progress of the Airdrie and Area Health Benefits Cooperative, and Council will be provided with information regarding the next steps in addressing key findings from the Housing Needs Assessment.

A number of correspondence requests will also come before Council, including requests to declare October 16-22 as Waste Reduction Week, and May 4 of 2018 as Stephen's Backpack Society's Yellow Hat Day in honor of the late Jim McPhee.

Council is also being asked to endorse recommendations on the allocation of 2018 Family and Community Support Services funding.

The meeting will start at 6:00pm.
