Councillors will meet at City Hall tonight (September 18) for the first time this month.

Airdrie resident Tracy Osborne will ask Council to amend the Tax Penalty Bylaw to allow for a compassion clause when it comes to late fees. Osborne's late mother was charged late fees after she passed away, and Council previously voted not to grant a waiver on those fees.

A proposed Code of Conduct for elected officials will come back to Council after going through a legal review. There will also be a public input session on an amendment to the Animal Control Bylaw that would reduce the impoundment time for animals without owner names or addresses from ten days to three days.

Also on the agenda, Council is being asked to accept a Canada 150 mural on behalf of the City. Council will also be asked to endorse a proposed Trans Canada Trail network, and to proclaim October 6 as World Cerebral Palsy Day and September 9 to October 1 as ARTember in Airdrie.

This is the first time Council has met since August, as the September 5 meeting was cancelled due to a lack of agenda items.

This will also be the first opportunity for the public to use the City's new streaming feature on their website. Council meetings will no longer be live-streamed on YouTube.
