You only have 5 days left if you wish to appeal your property tax assessment.

March 28 marks the deadline for this year, and while calls and questions have been on the quieter side due to value of overall assessments being down, they're still coming in.

Gail Butz, Manager of Tax and Assessment, says once people have checked out their property details online they can call in.

"If they have any questions give us a call and we will review any details with them and go through any comparables or changes that might have happened in their area."

While no one particular question is being asked, Butz, says most people just want to know how their house compares to others in the neighbourhood.

Even if you have no questions, going online to review your property details is a good thing. After March 28, an appeal can be made in which a quasi-judicial board will make a final decision.

For those wishing to pay taxes on a monthly basis, you can sign up for the TIPP (Tax Installment Payment Plan) at any point. Michelle King, Tax Administrator, says out of 13,000 tax rolls about 6,000 take advantage of monthly payments.

To sign up for the TIPP program go here. You can expect to see your tax bill at the end of May.
