It was a big moment for Mountain View County and the Town of Didsbury after signing a Master Agreement for the Inter-municipal Collaboration Framework (ICF)

County Councillor Patricia McKean explains why the agreement they signed yesterday (September 20th) is so important.

"These agreements provide a base where we can work together and provide services both ways for all of our residents within our communities."

Other agreements that were signed include those for shared facilities funding, fire services and family and community support services.

McKean says they have been working on these agreements since the summer of 2016, but it's not the only one the County has signed in the past.

"We completed the master agreement in Olds quite some time ago and then we worked with Cremona, Didsbury and Carstairs. The Cremona ones were signed recently as well as the Carstairs master."

The agreements continue to strengthen the collaborative efforts that the County and the Town have experienced for years.

"We are excited to further expand and grow the relationship between the Town of Didsbury and Mountain View County," said Didsbury Mayor Rick Mousseau, "The joint understanding of each other's opportunities and challenges has helped us craft not only agreements that will be of mutual benefit but an ongoing partnership that should strengthen the ties between Town and County."
