UPDATE:  

A search of a rural property near the community of Bergen, Alberta ended tragically for the family of a Calgary man today (March 31).  

Didsbury RCMP say 73-year-old Harvey Peter Pyra was located on his rural property near Bergan Road and Range Road 45 deceased.

The search, involving members of both the Sundre and Mountain View Search and Rescue had been going on since March 27th when Pyra was reportedly doing chores on his property.

Didsbury RCMP extends their condolences to Pyra's family and want to thank the Sundre and Mountain View Search and Rescue teams for their assistance.

Didsbury RCMP, along with Sundre and Mountain View Search and Rescue teams are searching a property near Bergen, Alberta for a missing Calgary man. 

Police say the last contact with 73-year-old Harvey Peter Pyra was on the morning of March 27th.  He was doing chores on his rural property in the area of Bergen Road and Range Road 45.

Harvey Pyra is described as:

  •  5’8” (1.73 m) tall
  • 177 lbs. (80 kg)
  • Medium build
  • Grey hair
  • Brown eyes
  • Caucasian

When last seen Pyra was wearing a green jacket and gray toque.

Didsbury RCMP are asking the public for any information in relation to this incident or identifying those who may be responsible for Pyra's disappearance.
