Chris MacIssac, the City's Transit Coordinator, wants to put any worries about bus cancellations due to cold weather to rest.

"Our intentions would be to continue to operate in spite of the cold," said MacIssac. "We've only had service cancelled twice in the past six years."

MacIssac explained that those two cases were due to extreme circumstances and there is no reason to expect such circumstances this year.

According to MacIssac, the City takes steps to ensure the buses remain in operation at all times.

"We're built to withstand the elements. Where and when possible we store vehicles inside to ensure that when it is extreme cold and we do go out to provide service to our customers those buses aren't as cold as the exterior."
