The Airdrie Food Bank has been having a very busy year as more and more community members seek their help

The 10th annual Empty Bowls Arts Festival on Saturday, September 10, at the Airdrie Food Bank raised both funds and awareness.

"The empty bowls are a reminder of people who maybe don't have as much to eat," said Empty Bowls board member, Maggie Armstrong.

Pottery bowls were made and painted by volunteers for the Food Bank, and on Saturday they were sold.

The event was a huge success with lots of people coming out to eat soup, participate in family activities and buy bowls.

If you would still like to purchase a bowl, you can stop by the Airdrie Food Bank.
