The City Council ballot for the upcoming municipal election has thinned out a bit.

In a Facebook post yesterday (June 15), Max Fiander announced his decision to withdraw from the race. In the post, Fiander explained that personal and business commitments would cause too much of a time conflict with the requirements of holding a Council seat, taking Fiander's attention away from his elected duties.

Fiander's announcement comes on the heels of another race shake up last week, when Charlotte Blackwell announced she would seek a seat on Council instead of running for Mayor.

Official nomination day for the upcoming election is not until September 18.
