The recent change from hot weather to cooler, rainy conditions and has allowed the City to lift its fire ban.

As of this morning (September 15th), the Airdrie Fire Department rescinded the full fire ban that has been in place since August 30. Burning permits are once again permitted within Airdrie's boundaries.

Earlier today, the Town of Cochrane also lifted their ban, while Rocky View County downgraded their status to a fire advisory.

The Airdrie Fire Department says you should still use caution when using backyard fire pits and disposing of smoking material.
